Water. It’s the simplest, most basic human need. I live in Seattle, so I take water for granted because it’s everywhere, all the time! Just today I took a 15 minute shower, washed some dishes, did a load of laundry, and drank a gallon or two of icy cold water. And I can just turn on a faucet and get it. Whenever. I. Want.
But today alone, 4,100 children will die of water related diseases because they do not have access to clean water. Their mothers will walk over two hours just to fill a jug with contaminated water causing dysentery, cholera, and eventually… death.
“Ok, Sarah,” you’re saying. “What’s with all this downer stuff? I thought we were going to talk about fashion and your outfit!”
Alright, darling readers, on to the outfit. This past weekend, I wore this outfit to an event for Charity: Water. This event raised money for Charity: Water to raise funds for water filtration systems in Cambodia. Every single cent of every single dollar that was raised went to implement these filters in Cambodian villages.
I wore this tank because it has always reminded me of silvery, clear water. Even fashion can remind us to be grateful for the most simple things. Like clean, delicious, life-giving WATER.
